Star in the Sky

There is always a light in the night sky... to give us hope, love, and to feel secure about things that happening...
So this is a star in the stormy night...
I used the 6x6 impression obsession stamp for the background... love the look it gives...

A little snowflake action on the side... and on the tag... and some old cluny lace at the bottom...
I love to use idea-ology tokens that have words that have to do with my feelings or what is going on in the tag...

So Snowflake was used...

And my clip art girl... love her too...

Hope that you have  wonderful evening... drive carefully if you are going out... and have a super New Year.   May it be all that you desire .... and wondrous in all ways.

Love, Light and Peace... Bonnie

Happy New Year to one and all

I just can't seem to wrap my mind around the fact that tonight is New Years Eve... WOW....
Happy New Year

I have had a really wonderful year... and so many happy memories... I have met so many more wonderful friends on line... lost a few too... hope all is okay with them... Sometimes time catches up with us and we have to change our ways... so hopefully they will come back once and a while for a visit...

Our Farm has grown and prospered this year... and things are going smoothly ... love the idea of this way of life.  So very grounding...  no pun intended...  Some of my New Years feelings are that I need to spend more time creating, having friends over, and planting more plants around the farm... around the house and playing in the soil... hopefully I will be able to get these things done this year.

I also have had a wonderful year, winning challenges, and enjoying sharing with all... that is such a wonderful feeling when I get a comment or an e-mail letter from someone that has been inspired to create from something that I have shared...  so GREAT...  a magical feeling to say the least...  I personally love to create and hope that everyone can feel that love when they do too...

Okay... so on with todays blog...  I wanted to end the year with some fun type of project... so I made these hat boxes for a guest room in our home...  I just love them... I also wanted to enter one more time on Grungy Monday...The challenge this week was to use tissue paper or tape .... soooooo....  as I loved Linda's flowers and had to make some tissue paper flowers from Tim's Musical paper... I created these for my boxes...   love that stuff... if you dont' have any yet... make sure you put that on the top of your list for the first of the year... a must have product... great for so many uses...

I used My Minds Eye to cover some the places on the boxes... and then used tissue tape to add some embellishment to the lids... On the top lid, I went a little further, as I covered the entire lid... so I edged the lid with tissue tape...

Making the flowers... oh I think it is my favorite thing to do .... I have bins of flowers in the studio... all ready for a perfect project... but these I had to make especially for this project... as I did use the tissue paper... musical!!!   Love it...  I made the leaves from some scrap My Minds Eye paper and then used weather wood Distress stain on them to give them a little more color...  I wanted to keep the colors very light and demure  on these boxes...  the room that they will be going in is a light peach and turquoise... so I wanted the 'blue' light...  so as not to clash with the turquoises in the room...

Another view of the top... I added some small blossoms made from the tissue also... I used the smallest flower on the Tattered Floral Die ... and just made about 30 little blossoms... each one is 3-4 flowers.. and I used a thin dowel... and a little glue and these little ones were a snap... love the look I got with them... they are so precious...  A few pearls and it adds to the shabby chic look.
Of course I had to add a few bows too... so using my seam binding tape, and a little Weathered wood reinker... I had pretty ribbon to play with... made a dozen little bows and started to glue them on...

Oh I forgot to mention the 'vines'   I used a spellbinder die for them... but the paper I used started out as always as white card stock... and I 'inked' it... then added some perfect pearl mists... and then a little of this and that... love the delicate look that they give the boxes...  of course each 'vine' is a little different color as I did each strip of paper a little bit different... but used the same colors... well sort of , kind of...

As you can see this one is a little darker... but generally all the same tones...

The papers add to the look I wanted for these boxes... a little bird and bird cage here and there... flowers, pearls, bows and leaves... wow... I can hardly wait to put this into the back bedroom...
Love it...

Hope you create things for your home... it adds just a nice touch to everything...

Have the best of years coming up...  and thanks again for all the wonderful comments and love that you leave behind when you go blog hopping... My neighbor just told me some really great news yesterday... and that is that we might have available to us real soon a satellite that will give us HIGH SPEED!!!  Keeping fingers crossed... wow... what a new year present that would be... love it...

Have a Happy New Year... may it be healthy and happy in all ways...

A new Year is coming...

Each day of the year we do certain things and sort of follow the same routine... so I decided that I had to step out of the box again today... and use different colors again.. .ones that I dont' usually use... especially with a winter scene...

I used kraft browns...  and also used the a couple of stamp sets... and also the snowflake die cut...  I cut a piece of plastic from a package and then added some dabber white and then some picket fence stickles distress...

Hope that you will try some new things out too... it is fun to experiment...  I am having some friends over tomorrow and we will be doing that all day long... having fun doing it too... Love these kinds of days...

Hope you have a fun day... see you tomorrow... with bells on my toes...  thanks for stopping by for a visit... Love, Light and Peace... Bonnie

A girl with buttons

I wanted a wintery looking scene... and I think I got it with this tag... what do you think???

I used Tim's words from A letter from Santa set... and embossed with gold... then I used a Martha punch (the Pansy set..) and made the border... and used my mini misters and created the background paper she is against...  and then scored it...

A simple enough tag...
Wintery looking... and she is holding such pretty flowers... I have to get back into making flowers... are you ready for SPRING???

I am...

Well.. it will be here before you know it... LOL.. at least on this site it will be...

Thanks for stopping by... and see you tomorrow hopefully... I will be here... and still showing winter things...  but soon... spring will be here...  I can feel it trying to burst out of me...

More Chirstmas boxes

I use to love to collect Ornaments for different trees at Christmas time... I use to put up around 20 trees... all different sizes... from 2 feet tall to 6 feet tall.. and then the main tree was generally a little bit larger... like hitting the ceiling... loved it all... but now a days... I generally don't even get one up...  so I wanted to give the kids (not really kids anymore... in their 30's... ahem... )  some of the ornaments from their childhood...  So that is what I have done here... the one on the right is for our son...
And this one for our daughter...  I chopped off the top tree... that I made in 1969.... wow... a few years ago... it is a little brush tree and I glued tiny pinecones all over it...

Of course I used a lot of tissue tape on these boxes... and so I think this also apply for the two challenges that I am putting them into... they both are really 100% Tim Holtz oriented... with the exception of the old ornaments...   So Simon Says Stamp and Show is all about Tim's Tags... which I do all the time... love doing them... and Also GRUNGY MONDAY ... which is to use Tape...  which I certainly used a lot of that here... didn't I???

I still will make a couple more entries as I want to make some pretty tissue flowers... I love Lindas... and if you haven't taken a look... please do... it is really WONDERFULLY Pretty...  Thanks for the challenge Linda...

Happy New Year is coming up soon... so get ready...
I am having a play day the day of New Years Eve... so I will start celebrating early... YEAH!!!

Hope that you have safe plans for the week-end... and remember to always enjoy... Love, Light and Peace... Bonnie

A special Box

I wanted to create an un-Christmas box for my son... as he loves to keep art out in his house all year long... so I went to the Dollar store and bought a nice size box... about 6 X 6  inches... and I covered it...

I really had a lot of fun...
Brett and Casey will love this... this is the top of box... which I turned upside down and hinged it...  as we go along you will see totally what I did...  I used a lot of things from Tim's idea-ology line... like these black letters... love using them on different things... they fit great on these little wooden blocks... Also since this part of the box was all about birds... I used the mini cage...
Since a box has 4 sides... they each were decorated a little bit differently...  First off I took a 12 x 12 paper and inked and stamped all kinds of sayings from Tim's stamps and also other sayings that I love... I cut it into 4 pieces... and then glued onto the four sides...

I used Tissue tape in places to accent things... and also different dies....  embossed papers... and then die cut...

Here are the other three sides...

Each side is like a tag... so I will enter this into the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge as well as the Grungy Monday challenge... They both have to do with Tim Holtz's Christmas tags... and these are must a little different...  LOL...
I used a different Tim die on each side... and had to use the car a couple of times...  Love that little car...

When the box is closed ... with the lid down... it looks like this... inside the box there are 12 tags... one for each month of the year.... This tag is resting on a plate holder... love these for all kinds of things... how perfect for this too...

I really enjoyed making this project and know that Brett and Casey will too...  for a good year at least...

I also found that on Grungy Monday we had to use some tissue... so this is for that Challenge...  I will also have another project... so hold on... it is coming next...

Thanks for stopping by... see you in a little while...

A STAR in the Sky

This started out as a simple tag... but then I started to play with the backgrounds... and I used an  Impression Obsession 6x6 stamps... the pine branch... and also the words from A letter to Santa from Tim Holtz set...  then I used Picket Fence stain all over it... and then used some Iced Spruce... and was done with the background...  cut a circle... and then cut out 5 stars using a Spellbinder star die...

Used Tim's Merry Christmas and embossed with gold...

The little girl is a vintage clip art... what a sweet little thing she is...
I forgot to put the seam binding ribbon in this... bu the tag is gone now... so I can't take another picture... sorry...

Hope you take some time and experiment with different backgrounds... no matter what they seem to come out okay...
at least I think they do... LOL...
thanks for stopping by for a visit... and hope you come again soon...

Winter Wishes

Winter is here... and the colors that we will be using will all change... so I used Iced Spruce which I have been loving every time I have used it... a very winter color...

This tag is using one of the Techniques that Tim used... cutting something out... and then using crackle on it... and then putting a background paper and using Glossy Accent in the space... ( which is where the words Winter Wishes is..)   I also did a reverse embossing... and then used
the snowflake die cut on the side...

I used the Spellbinder ornament... and then an old Cuttlebug die for the words...

A little silver tinsel cording on the ornament to decorate it up a little... and then I added a canvas snowflake...

I love all the different textures on this tag... they are all do very different...
Hope winter wishes are coming your way...  and that you have a wonderful time no matter what the weather...

Thanks for stopping by for a visit... and I will see you tomorrow...
Have fun until then... Love, Light and Peace... Bonnie

A different Santa

When I think of Santa, I think of bright colors... but I tried a new thing... and I used a BLACK tag... and embossed it with snowflakes... and then used picket fence stain on it... and still didn't have the white I wanted... but finally I used an embossing pad and white embossing powder and got the look I wanted...
I used the Snow Flake die from Tim... and then also a delicate die from Cheery Lynn... the Santa is an old clip art... love him... don't you???

Anyway this is a VERY different Santa for me... but it is wintery in real life...

Hope that Santa brought you everything that you wanted...
Thanks for stopping by... out to get some bargains today...
and also a friend over to play... what fun...

Hope you have a wonderful day... Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie

Gift boxes

When you have a gift that is only 'words' it is hard thing to wrap... so I made these cute little boxes... only 3x3 inches and put the words inside the box...

Actually a subscription
 to a magazine...

They can also use the box for another gift... or something special...

I used K and Company paper and then I layered some flowers of paper and cloth... and then a Idea-ology gauze flower...

That is the whole wrapping etc... nothing more to do!!!  Easy and quick... for a years worth of love each month...

Love it...

Thanks for stopping by for a visit... and hope you will return tomorrow...  I have a little bit of Christmas to share again with you... I am still going... as our Children and their families will not be here until the end of this week... so I am still making things... and having fun with it...

A visit to see Santa

I got up in the middle of the night... ugh... wide awake and full of energy!!!! SOooooo what does one do??
I actually go on line and see if I can download a site ...so I went to Ranger... and saw some of the great ornaments that the staff is making ... love some of the ideas that they have on there... I also went to Graphic 45... and even though that site takes so very long... it is sometimes worth it...

Today I saw this cute little four tag folder that I decided to make from our grandson... and his picture of him with Santa...

I hope that he will cherish this in years to come...  it is such a fun time in a childs life... and they are actually not aware of it at all... LOL... but what fun we all have.
Okay... I started out with 4 tags that I designed myself...  they are 3.5 wide and 6 tall... with a bump on the top... not my normal style... but tried to keep as much to the original as possible... as I really like it...

I did use graphic 45 paper... from Christmas Emporium... and also had a lot of the die cuts...  so I was in luck... I had lots of little scraps that I needed to use too... so this project went sort of along pretty smoothly... not a quick one for me... it took me about 5 hours to finish... but I love it...
Each panel/tag was done individually... paper selected and then put onto the tag... and then decorated... I love these little ornaments... so cute...
Santa and the stocking... I use to love to hang up my stocking... as Santa always left such wonderful good things in my stocking...  I use to love that the best of all presents...  it would take hours to unwrap it all... (not really... just seemed like it as a child)  and each thing that was in there was so needed in all ways.. .LOL... even if it wasn't... you loved it... 100%...
Took a couple of Spelbinder dies and made a nice little frame for this SPECIAL picture...  and added some of my precious white paper flowers from Simon Says Stamp and Show store...  that I won... I love these cute little flowers... so vintage and old timey...
Last tag... Jingle Bells... I have to find my bells... you see I cleaned up my studio and put all my Christmas stuff away...and when I decided to do this project... I dragged it all out again... but can't find the bells... ???

Anyway... now to take it into my sewing room and wrap it up for him... he will love it...  Santa and him ...

Santa Claus is coming to TOWN.... not many days left now...  wow... we better go to hours....

Have a fun time... and enjoy your day no matter what you are going to do... and thanks for stopping by for a visit...

Peaceful snowfall

Merry Christmas
Love, Light and Peace….Bonnie

The Deer and the Holly

I have to start off by telling you that I am in the middle of cleaning my studio... getting all the Christmas put away... and the snow and SPRING are coming out...  So I have to pull some things out of the Christmas bins to make this...  but that is okay... as I really love making tags... and for Simon Says Stamp and Show... it is always fun to create something for this challenge...
So with that in mind... lets more ahead... I started off with a tag that I had been cut from textured card stock... it has a slight tooth to it...  so I added some pine boughs from Tim's Letters to Santa Stamp set... and used a white dabber... then I heat dried and used my bundled sage distress ink pad with blender to create the delicate background...

Okay... I also have to tell you that the holly Martha Stewart frame was sitting on my work table... and so I inked that up... and also stamped with the words from that same stamp set... and then used some of the tissue wrap with glue and seal...  and then rolled the one corner...

Using the Tattered floral die cut, I cut some flowers from a piece of kraft Glassine... and then also cut out a holly leaf and branch set.. and colored and created them for the tag... and then used a piece of sticky back canvas and cut the deer...  and also distressed the deer...

A little tinsel ribbon and a bell and also some words and inking and that deer was ready to go...  all dressed for the holidays... that is for sure..
Now I wanted to create a unique area on the tag... so the curled area also served as an area where the holly leaves and flowers could be held... so that is what I did... I also added a lower border of leaves cut from a Martha punch...

A little seam binding colored with my favorite all time color... Victorian Velvet... and then a trinket pin with a Christmas token... YULETIDE... not many left of them...

A Tim Tag for sure...
Hope you have a fun day creating one too... and enter it into the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge... you might win $50 in free shopping... I have a couple of times... and that is really a fun CHORE!!!!    LOL...
Thanks for stopping by... and have a wonderful day...

The Circus

My mother who is 92 years old... is living in an assisted living set up... not something that I really wanted for her... but something that she wanted!!!   Anyway...  at times when I call her, she will say that she is living at the circus... !!!  That everyone is very funny acting etc...  typical of an assisted living place...

She is very active in many ways... is re-writing her memories in a journal that has a circus cover on it... so for one of her Christmas presents I made her this little booklet... a la Graphic 45... I made the box myself... as it was a last minute thing I made and put into her box...

 The Front of the book/box.
I used a Tim Holtz Curio knob for the opening of the box...  And used My Minds Eye paper for the backgrounds of most of the pages... I also used Stickie back canvas to put the box together... love using that stuff... have you tried it yet???

You can color it ... and put things together very easily.
When you start to open the box, you will see the circus jumping out at you...

I used hemp cording to adhere my little flags from...

And the clip art is stuff that my neighbor and I have been saving for years and years...  waiting for the opportunity to create a circus book, box or something... I am ready to do another now....

When both outside flaps are open... you will see this box in the center...  that is where the accordion book is stored.

 One side of the book
The other side of the book
The following pictures are of the individual pages...
I hope you enjoy it...  and I certainly hope my Mom enjoys it too...

Thanks for taking the time this week to visit my blog... and I do hope that you will also visit Simon Says Stamp and Show...  as this is where this piece of work is also going to be shown... the Theme this next two weeks is a Tim Holtz influenced piece... or tag... Now you know that I will also be making some tags... but wanted to share this with you too...

Merry Christmas to one and all...
Love, Light and Peace...Bonnie
